It's Great to be Eight!

After a long hiatus the Son of the Danube Returns...considering there will be another Son in about a month this may be only a brief blurb on the blog horizon...maybe. But for now...here some pictures from our birthday dinner yesterday!

Rose 8th birthday
I think eight years old is just about a prime Birthday year. Rose was very sweet and felt very special all day.

Does it look like there's room for one more in this line-up?

THIS guy is going to be a big brother soon?

Presents! The moment has finally come. And what could be so awesome, you wonder? A design your own barbie fashion kit, of course!

They both looks so proud of eachother.

Rob took Rose to IHOP for breakfast where Rose stood on a chair while they sang to her and the waitress gave her a dollar!

What can you say about a face like that? At the end of the night, true to her passion, this art set was Rose's favorite gift. It was a good day indeed.

June, July...and August

Oh, geez. I really thought that I had updated this more recently. I decided to do a quick recap of some highlights over the past few months--or at least highlights of which I have pictures. The summer was blazing hot and I am grateful that we did not melt. Joe and Rose have started 2nd and 3rd grades and so far the school year has been off to a great start. I hope that you are well and at peace as we roll into a new season. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

May 2010

Hello again!
It's been over a month since my inaugural post and it's time to beef up this blog! I'm had a very peaceful and productive past couple of days home alone with Luke as Rob is with the rest of the kids and extended Dunikoski family in DisneyWorld. I have had heard reports of a good time, but to me, I'm the one on vacation.

Without further ado among this round of pictures you'll see the second half of Rose's birthday celebration at Rainforest Cafe. The cute blond in the pictures is her cousin Maddie. You'll see Joe's soccer team. The season is almost finished and under Rob's leadership and assisted by Joe's tremendous determination on the field the Falcon's are undefeated. Luke is our first baby who does not suck his thumb but he has the endearing habit of sucking on his blanket to fall asleep. One evening I snuck in and got a picture and you can see how precious he looks in his sleep. The four black and whites are Peter and Rose dancing and prancing in the rain the other day...doesn't Peter have a fabulous smile???? And, well, brace yourself for the last picture, because at 11 months old Luke is just painfully cute.
Love to you all.
God bless.
Anna

Easter people; Blue ribbons; Rose is Seven!!!

Welcome All! Now that I've picked up a photography hobby I thought I'd start a family blog to keep photos from our goings-on to share with friends and family near and far. I don't plan to wax-poetic...mostly just give you quick updates and a glimpse into what's been going on. I hope to spruce this page up one of these days--but for now, without further adieu: here is
SON OF THE DANUBE!!!!!!!!!!!!*

This batch has Easter morning. Following in the Wright family tradition, the four kids had to hunt for their Easter basket, although Luke's was not too hard to find. Friday of Easter week was History Fair at school. Joe was Hannibal Barca and Rose was St. Rose of Lima. Lastly you'll see pics from Rose's 7th. The extravaganza is still going on as her "friends" party isn't until Saturday. She's a lucky seven year old and we're just as lucky to have her.

Hope you're all well. Enjoy the photos. Oh, and the last one is my favorite. That's Jeston and Peter--and you don't want to mess with them!

*When Rob and I were dating he told me Dunikoski meant "Son of the Danube" (I assume that is in Polish.) I have never verified this but I do think it has a ring to it.
